In the 1960s, Donghe originally started by manufacturing wooden television casings. At that time, televisions were the main source of home entertainment, and their sliding doors could even be locked, indicating their preciousness. Later, through international Sino-Japanese cooperation, Donghe embarked on the path of instrument manufacturing, becoming the agent for Japan's Kawai pianos and Suzuki musical instruments. Starting with its first piano, it subsequently produced recorders, melodicas, and harmonicas, allowing parents to purchase them at affordable prices and contributing greatly to the popularization of music in the country.
