Stroll through Daxi Zhongzheng Park and appreciate the nostalgic charm of bygone eras. In 1909, Daxi Street served as an important base for the Japanese colonial government's indigenous affairs policy. Urban planning was subsequently implemented based on the concept of a 'standard city,' leading to the creation of Daxi's first park, Dakokan Park. Shaped like Taiwan when viewed from above, the park subtly reflected a nationalistic belief that people were unwilling to lose amidst the Kōminka (Japanization) movement. In 1975, the park was renamed 'Zhongzheng Park' to commemorate Chiang Kai-shek's contributions in Taiwan.
