Dongyangshan National Forest Recreation Area

Dongyangshan National Forest Recreation Area is located in Fuxing District, Taoyuan City, and is situated at the tail end of the Xueshan Mountain Range. When viewed from Amu Scenic Platform in Taoyuan, the mountain's profile resembles a reclining maiden with wide eyes gazing eastward, which led to the name 'Dongyangshan' (East Eye Mountain) becoming widely known. The entire recreation area spans nearly a thousand hectares and boasts a spectacular 'sea of trees' formed by over three hundred hectares of Japanese cedars. Within the park, Dongyangshan, at an elevation of 1212 meters, is the highest point. From its summit, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding continuous mountain ranges, observe the landscapes of Taoyuan, Sanxia, and the Tamsui River, and it is also an excellent spot to admire Taoyuan's nightscape.
