Huxia Barracks (W027 Stronghold)

Huxia Barracks, also known as W-027 Stronghold, is located next to the entrance of Wushatou Nanshan Forest Road. It was an important stronghold during early cross-strait confrontations. Built between 1986 and 1988, it utilized local granite mixed with reinforced concrete, and its internal tunnels were entirely excavated by manual labor. The round-the-clock construction at the time even attracted nighttime reconnaissance from the opposing side, necessitating heightened vigilance and frequent use of .50 caliber machine guns for deterrent firing. Spike boards were also laid out around the perimeter for protection, making the construction process extremely arduous.
