“Weilu” was the former residence of Hong Shou, an Assistant Instructor at the Imperial Academy during the Ming Dynasty. Hong Shou, whose courtesy name was Fengming, was from Xihong, Kinmen. He was profoundly learned and, in his early years, served as a professor in both prefectural and county schools. Many of his students passed the imperial examinations and achieved high ranks. At one time, he was highly respected in academic circles and was honorifically called “The Grand Master.”
