Houpu Wumiao Temple

Wumiao Temple, also known as Neiwumiao Temple, was originally a Guandi Temple. After the establishment of the Republic of China, following the example of many local Wumiao Temples across Taiwan, a shrine for Yue Wumu was added to be worshipped alongside. Around 1926, a movement to abolish superstition swept across Taiwan, and the temple's statues were once destroyed. After the Republic of China military stationed in Kinmen in 1949, the temple served as the office for the military government's and the Kinmen Battlefield Political Affairs Commission's material supply and tax collection departments. Later, in 1984, the temple was reclaimed and renovated by the temple authorities, and then rebuilt in 1987, achieving its current appearance.
