Chen Jinglan Mansion

This Western-style mansion was built in 1921 by Chen Jinglan, an overseas Chinese merchant from Kinmen residing in Singapore. It is the largest Western-style building in Kinmen and a representative work among the 'fan-a-lou' (foreign-style residences) constructed by overseas Chinese returning to their hometowns. The pure white exterior gives the Chen Jinglan Mansion a distinct Western flair. Its most impressive features are the exquisite carvings and symmetrical arches, which showcase Western architectural techniques.
