Visitor Essentials
Ronghu Lake is an artificial lake created by diverting water from Jinsha Stream. Built in 1972, it is one of Kinmen's five major lakes. Windbreak forests are widely planted along the lakeside, interspersed with small pavilions and arch bridges. Among these, the most prominent are the Dongmei Pavilion, built in memory of the great philosopher Fang Dongmei, and the Huxiao Bridge, which spans the center of the lake. On the south bank, in Hou Shuitou, stands a famous Wind Lion God statue, whose design with large eyes and a wide mouth possesses a charmingly rustic appeal.
