Bei Feng Ye, Wind Chickens

In Greater Kinmen, people are familiar with Wind Lion Gods; however, in Lesser Kinmen (Lieyu), there are two distinctively local symbols for warding off wind and evil: Bei Feng Ye and Wind Chickens. Although both are folk beliefs aimed at combating natural disasters, their origins, appearances, and functions are independent, collectively forming Lesser Kinmen's unique religious landscape.
