Kinmen County Forestry Office

The Kinmen County Forestry Office, located in Jinsha Township, Kinmen, is a green and vibrant attraction in the Kinmen area. Legend has it that early Kinmen was once a place of lush vegetation, but when Zheng Chenggong (Koxinga) conquered Kinmen during the Ming Dynasty, he extensively cut down the island's trees to build infrastructure, thus transforming Kinmen into a barren and deforested land. Later, in 1951, to improve this harsh environment, the government launched greening and beautification policies and reforestation efforts in Kinmen. After numerous failures and improvements, they finally overcame all difficulties, laying the foundation for Kinmen's greenery and improving the quality of life for both military personnel and civilians.
