The Xujiang Xiaowo Stele Cluster is located at the foot of Nanpan Mountain, south of Kinmen Ancient City and south of Wentai Pagoda. It is a cluster of stone inscriptions formed by literati and military generals from various Ming and Qing dynasties who inscribed poems and essays on giant boulders. The earliest inscriptions can be traced back to the 14th year of Emperor Jiajing's reign in the Ming Dynasty (1547), when Yu Dayou, then a Kinmen Centurion, inscribed the four characters 'Xujiang Xiaowo' here. 'Xujiang' was his alias, and this inscription also became the origin of the stele cluster's name.
