Luodong Forestry Culture Park

During the Japanese colonial period, there were three major government-run forest farms: Alishan, Baxianshan, and Taipingshan. Among them, Taipingshan Forest Farm was developed relatively late. The Luodong Forestry Culture Park is the former site of the Luodong Branch Office and log pond from the Japanese colonial era. Since logging in Taipingshan ceased in 1982, the area has largely maintained its original appearance. In 2004, the Yilan Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency planned this site as a forestry culture park. After redevelopment, incorporating forestry history and ecological sustainability into its design, it not only restores the former charm of forestry culture but also highlights the historical significance of Taipingshan forestry and the development of Luodong Township. In 2012, using its former name, Luodong Forest Farm, the park was officially registered as a cultural landscape in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act.
