Dafeng Dafu Plain Forest Park

Dafeng Dafu Plain Forest Park is located in Guangfu Township, Hualien County, situated in the Huatung Valley, flanked by the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range. Traveling south through the valley, roughly halfway, past the Hualien Sugar Factory chimney, you'll immediately encounter a vast, continuous expanse of forest. The outskirts of the forest bear the shared history of diverse ethnic groups. Taiwan is a beautiful island covered in forests, but centuries of development have pushed primeval forests out of the plains. Starting in the 21st century, the Forestry Bureau actively promoted plain afforestation. After a decade of tree growth, the people of Hualien gained the nation's first plain forest – Dafeng Dafu Plain Forest Park. Situated between the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range, the 1,250-hectare park, equivalent to 48 Daan Forest Parks, is truly a super carbon absorber and oxygen generator. It boasts nearly 20 common low-altitude tree species, totaling over a million trees, which are aesthetically pleasing, practical, and closely related to human life. Nurturing the earth and providing for the daily needs of humans and other animals, their grace and colors form one of nature's most beautiful poetic pages. The overall planning of Dafeng Dafu Plain Forest Park integrates surrounding agriculture, urban and rural culture, community development, and environmental education industries and resources.
