Zhiben National Forest Recreation Area

Zhiben National Forest Recreation Area has an elevation of 110-650 meters, with a warm and humid climate year-round. The park boasts diverse flora and fauna, with major attractions including century-old banyan trees, century-old sour vines, and the Flower-Viewing Zhiben Herbal Garden. The recreation area is also an ideal destination for ecotourism, forest therapy, family activities, and night observation. In recent years, the park has successively optimized its trail system and introduced wooden-themed interactive facilities, as well as launching a series of Zhiben aromatic products, allowing the wonderful memories of the forest to extend into daily life. Open a window, begin a wonderful forest experience! In 2024, a store space renovation project was launched. It incorporated visual aesthetics by installing a new 6-meter-wide panoramic window, allowing visitors to 'gaze upon the entire forest' directly from the store, offering an unobstructed view of the fresh mountain scenery and waterfalls. It also established the first 'Shan Lin Zhi Zao' (Forest Creation) brand concept store in eastern Taiwan—'Shan Lin Zhi Zao' X 'Hopi Apartment Zhiben Branch'—with a focus on nature conservation and sustainable development. This innovation in the operation of recreation area stores aims to connect people with the forest ecosystem and create diverse service values. The store's interior space was also meticulously decorated using locally sourced timber, and a diverse range of products were carefully selected, including local Taitung mountain village cuisine, distinctive crafts, forest-themed books, Taitung botanical essence scented landscapes, and outdoor lifestyle goods. This design aims to make visitors feel as if they are stepping into the Zhiben Forest itself, allowing them to experience the beauty of Taiwan's forests.
